Principal Contact Person and Organization (including e-mail address):

Brief Description of Application:
ARC3D solves a Navier-Stokes equation by using Beam-Warming approximate factorization.
Number of Lines of Code: 5314
Target Platforms and HPF Compilers Used:
Coding Styles (data decompositions, computational methods):
The algorithm can be considered as a sequance of explicit and implicit operators. Implicit operators have dependences in one of 3 coordinate directions. The explicit operators are parallelized with 1D block distributions and implicit operators are parallelized with bolck distributions in y direction for x_solve and z_solve and redistribution in z direction before y_solve.
Extrinsic Interfaces Used (and reasons):
see http://www.nas.nasa.gov/~frumkin
Please comment on any aspects of the application that might be interesting, including any problems using HPF effectively:
Compiler support of REDISTRIBUTION directive would simplify coding.
